Santana Varsity soccer is off to a great start to the 2018-19 season with a 3-1-1 overall record. The Sultans missed out on the semi-finals of the Parker Cup because of a tie breaker and played tonight in the 3rd place game vs. League rival Granite Hills. Nick Valentine scored the first goal and Lane Dukes put a second goal in for a 2-0 lead at half. In the second half Omar Nuristani would finish off the game with a goal putting the Sultans up for good 3-0. Freshman Goal Keeper Andrew Peterson recorded his first career shutout and varsity win with help from Santana’s solid defense led by Sam Odenkirk, Austin Hanson, Colten Snipes, Kurtis Ours, and Nathan Hughes. Santana plays next in the Grossmont Tournament this Saturday Dec 8th in the Premiere level vs some of the top teams in the county.
