Boys Soccer lost tonight to Grossmont High School 3-1 in their first game of Grossmont Hills League play. The boys record is now 11-5-1 (0-1) in league. Grossmont scored their first goal of the game off a corner kick as the ball hit a Santana defender for a own goal after Santana had all the pressure on Grossmont early as the Grossmont Goal Keeper made 3 big saves in goal. Santana scored to tie the game 1-1 off a free kick from Nathan Hughes as Sam Odenkirk scored of a deflection. However shortly after Santana gave up the go ahead goal off another corner kick and the ball was not cleared out of the box and bounced in for a goal. Grossmont finished the game off with a goal off a penalty kick. Santana will look to get back in the board this Friday night with their league home opener vs. Granite Hills at 6:30pm.
The JV boys beat Grossmont 3-1 scoring all three goals in the first half winning their first league game of the season. JV now has a 9-2-4 record (1-0) in league.
