Multiple Teams · Cross Country First Sport To Compete In Almost A year


Sports are slowing coming back as Purple Tier Sports have the go to compete!  For the First time since last March Santana Athletics competed vs. other schools.  Boys and Girls Cross Country did their first meet of the season on Friday afternoon and were motivated and very prepared!  Both teams did an amazing job!  Please take a look at the message from Coach Butrovich below:

The Varsity Sultan boys defeated El Capitan in the much anticipated season opener at Steele Canyon High on Friday 2/12 by an impressive score of 15-49!! Scoring the perfect 15 points for the Sultans were 1st place finisher Jack McMackin (12th), 2nd place – Connor Cheary (10th), 3rd place- Mateo Graham (11th), 4th place- Jayson Oliver (10th), and 5th place- Cameron Thomas (10th). The varsity girls had a close race against El Capitan (6th in State last year), but came up just short of victory with a score of 25-31. Scoring for the Lady Sultans were: 2nd place finisher Mikayla Horning (10th), 6th place- Brianna Edwards (10th), 7th place- Marie Tischer (11th), 8th place- Trinity Johnson (10th), and 9th place- Abby Melius (9th).
Both the boys and girls JV teams were victorious! They were led by Mark Keller and Trevor McDonald for the boys and Kendra Smith and Natalie Saylors for the girls.
